I repurpose used tribal garments from the northern mountainous region of Vietnam. I travel to Vietnam and work directly with the hill tribe Hmong women. We trade for fabric and garments with several Hmong and Dao tribes. I then stay for a month at a time and work together with the hill tribe women in cutting up the used garments and sewing them into statement accessories and home décor items! In this way the women are a part of the process and are properly compensated for their work. This is about empowering women, creating something meaningful, upcycling, repurposing, and using organic products while keeping alive ancient techniques and cultures.
